ABOUT FRESHWATER

OUR STORY

Around 2003, my wife Carrie and I were moved powerfully by the statistic  that 70% of all Americans have no meaningful relationship with Church.  This started us talking and praying about the possibility of planting a Church somewhere.  A fellow pastor told us about the town of Paw Paw – the town so nice they named it twice!  We fell in love with Paw Paw and in 2005 opened up Freshwater Community Church.  A church with hopes to bring refreshment to the souls of those searching for God.  It has been a great journey these last 20+ years and we are always looking for more to join us.

OUR BELIEFS

Freshwater Community Church believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Redeemer of the world. We believe in the complete authority of Scripture as God's written word.

OUR VALUES

  • REAL: It's safe to be who you are at Freshwater without fear of judgment or condemnation.

  • RELATIONAL: We are changed through relationships with God, and others, not religious rules.

  • RELEVANT: Our faith should make sense, not only on Sunday, but in our Monday through Saturday lives, too!

  • REACHING: We want to reach others with the hope and good news of Jesus' message, both in our local communities and around the world.

  • REFINING: God changes us; refining each person into his purest form. God loves us where we are, but loves us too much to let us stay there.
