“Igniting Hope In The World”

HopeChest is a Child-Focused Community Development Program, partnering with some of the most vulnerable communities on four continents. Currently, they work in Ethiopia, Guatemala, Kenya, Russia, and Uganda. 

The areas served, called CarePoints, have a high population of vulnerable children. North American communities partner with a CarePoint to not just help children out of poverty, but to transform the entire community. HopeChest also works toward building faith and empowering the next generation to lead with Christ.

Beginning in early 2025, Freshwater established a partnership in Chicacao, Guatemala through HopeChest. As of June 2025, 71 Freshwater families/individuals have committed to being a HopeChest Friend by sponsoring a child in Chicacao. By developing a personal relationship with a child, these sponsorships help transform the entire community.
